Reflexology in Elloughton near Hull, Brough, Hessle, South Cave, North Cave and surrounding villages.

Reflexology has been practiced as an art and science for over 5,000 years. The tradition dates back to ancient China, India and Egypt, where it evolved as an integral component of mainstream health care.

The simple theory of reflexology is based on enhancing energy flow through all parts of the body by using a specific form of pressurised touch on the feet. The intention is to activate the flow of energy through more than 7,000 nerve endings on the sole of the foot, through various pressing, pulsing, holding and kneading actions. Its most basic function is to stimulate the body’s own natural relaxation response.

When there is stagnation of the vital life force in the body, it is felt as pain, stiffness, or weakness. When there is free flow of vital life force in the body, it is felt as wellbeing, agility and strength.

Reflexology does not diagnose or prescribe for illness; it aims to induce a sense of calm within the mind-body and promote an overall feeling of well-being.

Upon arrival you will offered a hot or cold drink and led up to the tranquil treatment room. You will be seated onto an extra large, leather electric couch which is heated to your perfect temperature, or switched off if you prefer to be cooler. You will then have a warming wheat bag placed around the shoulders to help you relax. Once comfortable and relaxed you are offered the chance to finish your drink during your treatment whilst sitting up. or you can be laid down and wrapped up in blankets to enjoy your peace and quiet. The choice is yours. If you have anything troubling you in your life, Sally is a trained Life Coach so feel free to talk over anything that may be preventing you from feeling peace in your life.

Your feet are then wrapped and wiped with hot cloths infused with lemongrass. A heated soft slipper is then placed on one foot and the treatment then starts with a lymphatic drain technique around the foot and up the leg. Hot stones are used to add to the experience and relaxation. Your reflexes are then worked to your desired pressure, which instantly starts to work on increasing your blood flow and unblocking nerves. This then helps the body find your areas of imbalance and help to restore a better wellbeing. A soft heated slipper is then placed onto this foot and the treatment is repeated on the other foot.

One thing is guaranteed, you will leave feeling like you are walking on air. Expect to sleep better and just feel like your world is a little brighter.

Reflexology For Fertility

Ovary issues, cervical problems, adhesions (more commonly known as scar tissue), pelvic inflammatory disease, premenstrual syndrome, hormonal imbalances, blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, endometriosis and menstrual problems have all shown improvement from reflexology (Holt et al 2009, McCullough et al 2014 and Tiran D 2010). Within a few sessions, improved health and wellbeing surface. In order to address fertility health, Sally will work through the reflexology points specific to the client's area(s) of health concern, such as the:

lymphatic system
immune system
circulatory system
neurological system (stress, anxiety, depression)
endocrine system (hormone balance)
liver (toxin release, hormone balance)
kidneys (libido, fertility issues)

Reflexology works best when the client also ensures healthy lifestyle habits are in place. These include but are not limited to diet, exercise, relaxation, work/life balance. No two reflexology treatments are the same for each session because the chosen points address the needs of the client on that particular day. Tailored treatment each session helps to ensure greater outcome.

Aside from releasing oxytocin and the endorphins responsible for intense relaxation, reflexology provides a space away from the speed of modern day life and a chance to offload emotionally, physically and mentally (Tiran D 2010). The treatment room provides a womb like environment which absorbs the strain and tension of control which trying to get pregnant often brings. Acceptance and surrender to the unknown and the uncontrollable is sometimes all it takes for the body to let go and to fall pregnant.

At what point should one have reflexology to conceive, ls it during periods or ovulation?

Reflexology can be used most of the cycle, but may be most helpful between menstruation and ovulation when actively trying to conceive. It would be best then in pregnancy to work with a reflexologist who is trained in support women in pregnancy.
